Loughrea Golf Club is long recognised as one of the finest Parkland courses in the country. We have a proud tradition of providing a warm welcome to all our visitors and societies.
We offer a challenging course – always in excellent condition, and an opportunity to socalise with our members in our friendly lounge and restaurant.
The members and committees have continued to improve the length, layout and conditioning of their course over the years and have hosted many GUI events including the Connacht Junior Cup provincial qualifiers and the Connacht Cups and Shields Finals.
The Connacht Branch’s Championship Committee voted the golf course the ‘Best presented course in Connacht of 2011’ and presented an award to Captain Pat Hynes
The Course
Loughrea Golf Club is a par 71 measuring 5825m off the blue tees. The course was extended over the years and is now a fair but challenging test for all golfers.
Loughrea has the advantage of having naturally draining soil that allows its greens and tees boxes to be used all year round . This explains the popularity of the Club’s weekly Open Day (Wednesday), 52 weeks a year.
With the new M6 motorway it is only 20 minutes from Galway City and less than 2 hours from Dublin.
The Clubhouse
After enjoying your game of golf why not sit back and enjoy the panoramic view of the golf course from our bar and restaurant.
